Actress With Auburn Hair

slack hand impoverishes.
Go to the ant, thou sluggard,
her ways and be wise ...
a little folding of the hands to rest and come
your need as a robber,
and poverty, as an armed man.
Proverbs 10:4 and 6:6-11.

In diligence, not lazy.
Romans 12:11.

Being lazy is not to use the faculties God has given us (physical, manual, intellectual ...) to meet our own needs, our associates, etc. When there is not trying to. The Word of God shows us what the consequences of it and invites us to reject such an attitude.

In two subsequent letters the Apostle Paul reminded his brothers his own example and asked them to imitate him, "you remember, brothers, our toil and hardship, how working night and day, to avoid being burdensome to any of you, we preached the gospel of God "(1 Thessalonians 2:9, 2 Thessalonians 3:8).

Laziness also exists in the spiritual realm. The Hebrew believers had become "dull of hearing." They were not able to understand the teaching of the Apostle and so he had to go back to expose the core truths of Christianity. We also run the risk of staying as "children" without spiritual maturity, unable to discern "good" and "evil", for lack of perseverance in reading the Word of God (Hebrews 5:11-14).

Believers, be diligent to "search the Scriptures" (John 5:39), jealous "of good works" (Titus 2:14), and persevering in prayer with thanksgiving.
